A double monkstrap on a sneaker sole: the Monte Chiro is our Monte Carlo on a black Chiro sole, built on last 9, which makes it lighter and more casual underfoot. The upper combines chocolate Italian Mastrotto suede with an embossed crocodile-pattern panel, closed with two silver buckles and lined in calfskin. Made by hand in European ateliers. The croco panel gives it a little extra character. Perfect for dinners and evenings out.

Self Returns online can be easily processed by logging into your Reinhard Frans account and requesting a refund for your order. Returns shipments are for the customers account, alternatively you can visit any one of our stores for a FREE refund or exchange.

Care for Your Shoes

Regularly brush your shoes with a suede brush to remove dirt and maintain the suede nap.

Brush in the same direction to avoid damaging the fibres.

Spray shoes with a suede protector. This will create a barrier against water, stains, and dirt.

If your shoes get wet, let them dry naturally away from direct heat.

Tough Stains- Apply a small amount of white vinegar to a cloth and dab the stain.

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a shoe tree to maintain the shape

Ensure the perfect fit

  1. Wear socks similar to the ones you plan to wear with the shoes.
  2. Stand upright with your heel against the wall.
  3. Mark the longest part of your foot (usually the tip of your big toe or second toe)
  4. Use the ruler to measure the distance from the wall (heel) to the toe mark.
  5. Repeat the process for both feet, as one foot is often slightly larger than the other.
  6. Use the measurement of the longer foot when determining your shoe size.
  7. Use our shoe size chart from Reinhard Frans (located above next to sizes) to convert your foot length to the correct shoe size.

Featured Materials

Chiro Black

Mastrotto is the best suede we can buy: the top tannery in the region, and by some margin the most expensive material in the shoe. Full grain, tightly napped, dyed deep through, which is why it holds its shape and its colour instead of going patchy where the shoe flexes.

Against it sits a crocodile pattern leather, embossed rather than printed, so the raised grain holds its shape rather than flattening with wear.

The Chiro sole is a little more structured than our Artisan Rubber, which raises the shoe a few millimetres and takes weight off the foot. In black it stays quiet under a dark upper, so the croco panel does the talking.
