Portofino II - Dark Brown Suede
The Portofino II is our penny loafer in dark brown Italian Mastrotto suede, fully lined, built on last 21. The penny strap runs wide across the vamp with stitching that follows the nap. The Chocolate Paul sole is natural rubber with an oxidation inhibitor blended in, so it holds its original colour long after an untreated sole has gone yellow, and it keeps the shoe light and quiet on hard floors. A loafer for a smart casual office, a long lunch, or a weekend that starts early.

Loafer
The loafer is a slip-on shoe characterized by its laceless design, making it easy to wear and remove. It typically has a low heel, a moccasin-style upper, and may feature decorative details like a strap (penny loafers), tassels (tassel loafers), or a metal ornament (horsebit loafers). Loafers are versatile and can be worn for both casual and semi-formal occasions. They are often made from leather or suede, offering a sleek yet comfortable footwear option.
Featured Materials
Natural Rubber
Mastrotto is the best suede we can buy: the top tannery in the region, and by some margin the most expensive material in the shoe. Full grain, tightly napped, dyed deep through, which is why it holds its shape and its colour instead of going patchy where the shoe flexes.
The natural rubber sole is a light brown, so it does not compete with the suede above it. It wears slower than leather and grips better on wet stone. We chose it because the loafer needed to be light without losing structure.
Restore that showroom look
Quick & Easily
Regularly brush your shoes with a suede brush to remove dirt and maintain the nap of the suede.
Brush in the same direction to avoid damaging the fibers.
Spray shoes with a suede protector. This will create a barrier against water, stains, and dirt.
If your shoes get wet, let them dry naturally away from direct heat.
Tough Stains- Apply a small amount of white vinegar to a cloth and dab the stain.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a shoe tree to maintain the shape
